A collection of design development projects over the course of my career with Titanic. The Orlando project was challenging with permitting and took several presentations to the city commissioners to gain official support for the variances required.
The project for China was great opportunity to develop the show and create all new sets and experiences. However, the highlight would be working on the 100 year anniversary of her sinking. The new content developed was groundbreaking and led to new discoveries that have solved several mysteries. This content also created new experiences in our shows that continue to draw new visitors.
The concept was to replace the outdated graphics of the interior lobby as well as the exterior paint.  The design required applying for signage variance, as code changes had occurred during the time since our last update. I chose to take a direction of adopting the ship colors and details to create a themed exterior fitting for the Orlando market.
Our in house painter produced the final product and a local sign company produced the dimensional logo signage seen. Colorchrome of Atlanta produced the window graphics and were installed by our production department. Below are the interior window graphic panels that were produced.
Titanic in China. 2016 began with an opportunity to take our most popular show on a tour of China. First up would be Guangdong. I spent two weeks on the ground visiting multiple locations and performed the site visit for the show at the Guangdong Museum. The venue would have challenges for production by getting the components to the third level, without the use of large freight elevators. Below are some initial concepts, the space planning design, and finally show photos of the finished product.
